You can call the bond that I have with this dwarf date palm a love-hate relationship. It is a beautiful palm tree. How not to fall in love with it!

But when its fronds begin to turn yellow and droop, I just hate the task of removing them because of their long sharp thorns!

But, the needles lining the fronds of the salak tree that I grow at the back of my house are even more wicked!

But, I have to show my +love -hate feeling to this salak tree... because I want it to quickly display its luscious fruits, beautifully wrapped up in their scaly-snake like skin.
I pray that this palm tree is not 'male'!
